The IVOXY Origin Story with Alec Taylor – Podcast #025

It all started with two guys and a cat.

We’ve hit a milestone, the big two five, heck our podcast can finally rent a car! So we thought it’d be a good chance to catch up with our co-founder, Alec, to share a bit about our virtualization-driven genesis, 14 years of evolution, and where we believe IT is headed next.

The year was 2006. Alec & his co-worker Eric realized virtualization was more than just a fad but they were working for a value-added reseller that was more “reseller” than “value-added” and told the pair “it’s just a cool toy for sys admins.” Thus IVOXY was born –  right out of Eric’s Seattle-area living room, ready to launch a new kind of solution provider focused on helping customers transform the way they approach IT.

To find out where the journey has taken us and what we see on the horizon – or maybe just to find out what a cat has to do with any of this – have a listen!

Spoiler alert: One trend we see coming in hot is containers. Find out for yourself what they are all about by signing up for our new 3-day class: Hands-On Containers & Kubernetes, taught by none other than Mr. Alec Taylor. We are offering a special discount just to Data Center Therapy listeners – just use code PODCAST by February 11 to get $1000 off your registration.

Oh, and by the way: NetApp is offering a free 3-minute assessment you can take right now to help find the right data management solution for your business.
